Decoupage week Day 5.... Butterfly garden Step by step

Hello everyone tonight is the step by step, for the Butterfly Garden Stamp set, you will need what we had for the previous project plus the pink copics I used RV23,RV21,and RV02 in this project.

1, Cut out a  large butterfly mask,

2, stamp the butterfly in the bottom right hand corner, don't worry to much we will trim to suit later as we did before..
3, Cover stamped image with mask
4, Stamp Corners with the corner stamp in the set, to create a frame
5, leave mask on and stamp writing, taking note of where your stamping, the writing needs to stay in the frame...
5a, use a piece of paper to mask out the frame area while your stamping the writing. helps stop bleed over,
6, Once you have removed your mask you will have your frame base.See how the butterfly looks like it's above the border and hovering over the writing.Clever eh!!!!
7, at this stage you will want to stamp your extra layers, In this project I have 2 x small Butterflies and 1 x large Butterfly on a seperate piece of White card. on the large Butterfly using the background writing from the set stamp both sides, don't worry about going over the edges as you will cutting it out for layer 2 on the project....
8, Now your base is dry and ready , you can colour and stipple the edges I've used Adirondack Cranberry,
9, Once you have finished your base ,Trim and mount onto green card with a border of 3mm, trim the Cherry pink card to fit a white 6x6 card like below...Now Trim and cutout your layers..
 10. Assemble the card as shown below. I either use sticky pads or silicon glue for the layers more often or not pads as they are instant , add the detail sparkle on the dots of all the layers of the butterflies this time Antique Pink detail wand ( just a thought if you don't have the detail wand colours you want try adding a liitle in a small squeesy bottle with a fine nib , it's quite thick  but it does work.) Then to finish wrap ribbon and sash and mount all on the card, I find it best to add the detail when you have completed the card, at least it could be stood on a shelf to dry away from harm...

and your finished card

Thank you for popping by and or taking part... let me know how you get on any problems message me , I shall be back next week with the new Decoupage Stamp sets... Robin on a post, Boy and Sleigh,Cottages, Candle  and Frosty the Snowman, samples and maybe a 'step by step' till then have great weekend ....

Decoupage Stamps week Day 4...Step by Step with Starburst

Good evening All , are we ready for Crafting ??? hope so...... The weather is miserable here and windy with it so why not grab a cuppa , have a read through and then have a play!!!! you will need
Stamp sets Butterfly and Starburst Garden
Memento  Tuxedo Black,
Copics YG11,YG63,YG67,Y02,Y15,C1,C2,and C3 for shading,
Masking paper, post it or similar,
Green and Gold Card stock,
Christmas Green Glossy card,
White Ribbon.
Wire for feeler on Butterfly,
Scissors, Trimmer, and d/s tape,
Diamond and Gold Detail wands,

This is the card you will be making, you can also use this image for colour referencing....
1, First of all cut out at least one of each of the masks do this by stamping image on Masking paper For those who don't have masking paper use either a large post it note or stamp on thinish paper and use a re-postional tape to hold in place when needed.. I do recomend you get some masking paper as it is very useful it  has a very lo tack backing and lasts for quiet a few stampings...
2, Stamp the large Starburst some where near the corner of a white piece of card ,don't worry about sizes we will cut it down to suit later,
Place the pre-cutout mask of the large Starburst over the one you have stamped to line up perfectly, please excuse the state of my mask as you can see it has been used a few times I store all my masks on colour card stock for easy reference,
3,Stamp the Medium Starburst stamp with Memento ink pad and stamp  overlaping the mask a little on both sides.
4, Add another mask over the medium Staburst, and stamp the corner stamp from the set to form a frame , TOP TIP remember to move the medium mask to the other side before stamping the frame on that side ,No  peaking yet!!!!!

5, Stamp the writing back ground stamp again don't forget to move the mask back when your stamping in the lower area......when you have done both the border and the writing, you can remove all masks ......
6, When you reveal the images below the masks you will see you have re-created your own collage image now ready to colour cut out  and trim, at this stage Stamp another large Staburst or as many as you want to layer and a Butterfly, I've used the small Butterfly this time and only one layer but you could do 2 if you wanted more diemension...
7, Colour,Trim the base, to fit on suggested layers above to fit a 6x6 White card, Colour and cut out the extras, Before you attach the base card smudge and Stipple the edges with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink pad, and allow to dry  before building the card , TOP TIP I tend to bend the butterfly both sides of it's body to give a little movement, and I attach the feeler wire on the back with pads that then sick the butterfly to the card, another tip score the Starburst flower on the back and gently bend to form apex petals, if you do this on all layers it does look so effective....To finish when all the card is assembled use Diamond Detail Sparkle on the starburst Flowers down the edge of the lines into the center  and over a few dots around the edges , I've used gold in places to highlight.... very useful these wands.......

And here is a reminder of the finished card.....Hope you have fun re- creating this card let me know how you get on....

Tomorrow we are going to do the Pink Butterfly corner Step by Step to finish off the week. below.....Hope you will join me again. till then Happy Crafting Jayne x

Day 3 Decoupage Garden Stamps ...Masking Technique samples

Hello everyone, hasn't it turned chilly today...tonight's selection are from using the Masking Technique, Threse are very versitile Stamps they can be used in so many ways as you have seen, but this is the way I designed them to be used. I'm what you might call a true stamper and try to stamp more than I would say use stencils, if I had the choice or the chance.....so creating beautiful cards such as these is great fun. Experiment with different colours, you can colour with copics or just as well with watercolour pencils, matching the colours with inks pads this will  allow you to stipple and smudge the corners and edges, and then to complete the look add Detail Sparkle
Butterfly Garden coloured with copics and  Wild plum or Cranberry Adirondack ink pad

Here you can see the detail of the butterfly 3 layers and all the stamps in the set were used to create this card.

On this Sample everything was stamped and coloured flat using the same technique and coloured with water colour pencils but matched up the colour with Brilliance Pearlescent Jade and silver Detail Sparkle

On this Sample I took it one stage further and added layers to the butterfly...

This picture really shows the layering you can achieve.

And this Starburst Garden Stamp set will be the  step by step card I will be doing with you tommorrow night Starburst Garden, colouring with copics ,smudging with Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink pad, and masking, so till then Happy Crafting   Jayne x

Decoupage Stamps Day 2 ...Stamping Samples ...

Good evening all...Slight change of plan tonight..I thought it may be a better idea to show some more of the Stamping Samples before we do the actual step by step, which will be now be on the last Day...so tonight here are 4 samples just using the stamps....

Lilac papers dots n stripes and checks from Craft Creations, using Victorian Violet Brilliance ink pad for all the stamping, and Detail sparkle for the dots, the apeture is cut through both layers to form a window with nesties and then the cut outs are used in the inside matt and layering for the sentiments, ribbon wrap and wire for the feelers. to finish
Using the pink dots n stripes and assorted papers that match in colour ..stamp, cutout and layer as above, before mounting on the card I've again cut out the apeture with nesties and re-used them for the insde the card backing for the sentiments, I used the corner stamp on each corner, this is easier than you think as the stamps are clear you can line them up better ...then wrap the ribbon before attaching the backing paper. the buuterfly has 2 layers this time the smaller version, add detail sparkle to touch up here and there, to finish...
A star card this took some time to work out !!!!! as each layer was die cut through and then folded to match the next side and each side stamped and decorated .. The butterfly is layered both sides so when is swings around you can see all layers, the papers are jade this time and the inkpad was Brilliance Pearlescent Jade and turquoise Sparkle detail. The ribbon was wrapped and the butterfly hangs from is to swing freely..... all sides of the papers were stippled or sponged with the ink pad to distress it a little before mounting onto the card....I was pleased with the end result....
And lastly tonight another pink version, but this time The butterfly is on Acetate and Sparkle medium Antique pink and Mink again both sides so you see a beautiful butterfly from both sides..ribbon is wrapped before mounting, and create a tag for the greetings and add it to the ribbon wrap..

okay tomorrow we will have some of the samples using the Masking Technique, see you then Happy Crafting Jayne x

Butterfly and Starburst Garden Decoupage stamp week.... Day 1...Embellishments

Hello everyone hope you enjoyed your week-end, I have been thinking about the best way of showing you the beauty of this style of stamps , They are so versitile can be used as Stamp n Mask stamps or cut out and layer to used with othere products, So tonight I'll show you some ways of using them as embellsihments and then through the week I'll show you the Technique I designed these for ...along with a step by step tutorial on a couple of cards, so while I prepare that here are some samples..

Using White detail embossing powders on lilac and velum card stock 3 layers  with detail Sparkle, Swirly frame emboss through Big Shot then silver or diamond Sparkle Medium over the top of the embossing ,wires for the feelers....
This one is similar to the stamp and mask technique but I made this one during my playing sessions..
Gold embossed Starburst scattered as a corner cluster with gold mirri and gold card holly leaf punch outs, Wood ware punch, ribbon wrap around the daisy frame stencil using gold Sparkle medium on Acetate. sentiments stamped and embossed in the oval.
This again is a mix of the 2 sets, created in the playing sessions, Using pink and green satin card stock and leafy frame embossed through bigshot. The butterfly and satrburst white detailed embossed on Vellum leaf die cuts smuged edges with brilliance pearlesent thyme ink pad.butterfly coloured with pastel pencils on the reverse.
Gold leafing twice once through the stencil and then stamped with the glue and gilding.....2 layers on the butterfly and detail copper on the dots and dashes..,.
Pretty papers dots n stripes Craft Creations the starburst this time with diamond Sparkle and gold for the centers on Acetate. The corners from the set with pearlesent yellow ink pad.
To finish this looks almost like a pocket full of roses, again created while playing with the new set when they first arrived...before the Brain wave...( which you will start seeing tomorrow)....again using the dots n Stripes papers from www.craftcreations.co.uk , they really do have a big colour seletion in these papers that all co-ordinate well together. these were all coloured with copic pens to match the colours...

well that's today's selection back tommorrow with a step by step using the Starburst Gardenill then Happy Crafting        Jayne xx

MDF sets Christmas samples part 2

Hello everyone.... sorry about the delay for this section, had a bit of a deadline to deal with...in the finishing off of the Studio and once I get the delivery of the last lot of furniture for the studio... I can then start moving in, and I shall be showing you all the build step by step on the new Blog ...comming soon,

today's selection are from both shows as before all using the MDF sets and the usual bits and bobs....

Shepards and stars this time with Stencil paint on a crackle background, but gilded with gunmetal in areas to give extra demension once the paint was dry, star with either gold or Champagne Sp/M...mounted onto card then punched holes for hanging...
I think this is one of my favorites and definately will do another for myself .Paint and Crackle the open frame on both sides, using Hunter green or golden pine and leaf flourishs stencil again both sides so allow plenty of time to dry the first side, before doing the second....smudge n edge with the same colours of paint then the Sp/M. then simply stipple  the same colour on the tree probably better to have many thin layers than spreading the whole thing with a spatular, it also dries better......to finish punch hole for the hanging ribbon.
Similar again but using the backing MDF piece this time added mica and seal it with hair spray before adding the smudge and stipling tech around the edges . This time I utteed the bauble after painting it cream and added mica before debossing into it, once a little cooler brush mica and buff it whow..... beautiful effects !!!!  once really cool add a little detail here and there to finish  add ribbond and hang...
This one again is having fun with papers, die cuts, stencil, and stamping. The Bauble is free hanging from the leaves that again were covered with papers and edged....
I adore this Stunning Christmas Visitor's book the covers were all as above but instead of using wire's to bind it I used this lovely gold ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons, as is where 95% of my ribbons I use is from.
This charming little hanging calender would make a great gift, on grey crackle background and using the Daisy frame Stencil and Gunmetal Sp/M, create the next layer both the flower and the butterfly were de- bossed with mica and utee and a rose in the center really finishes the look this would work well like the next one on a mini easel....
I can see so many possibilities using this Mini easels and I have a box full to use.....this time with the leaf flourishes I've used Jade and Teal Sp/M, in a duo technique and again used both in the smugding around the edges, I punched the hole to thread the small tassel and added a chinese coin to the knott...

And lastley today this Calender the backing was painted in a marbling Technique with leaf flourishes and Mink Sp/M.. die cut leaves painted and smuged flowers with my favorite roses from www.thehobbyhouse.co.uk  in the centers..The only thing you can't see here is that the butterfly is on wire and therefore bounces and moves.... really cool effect....

well that's it for today next will be the new style of Stamps Butterfly Garden and Staburst Garden, again I have so many samples in this section I'm going to them over a couple of days and I want to finish with a full workshop to show you how to used these stamps they way they are meant to be used...

So will see you soon happy Crafting   Jayne x

MDF Sets Part 1..

Hello everyone, today is a wet miserable day here,so I'm blogging early so I can get a bit of painting done tonight..Tonight I'm showing you the MDF sets these are by far my most versitle designs yet!!!! when I was putting the shapes and sizes together, I had no idea that I could find sooo many projects to do with them, and would also make that someone special a fantastic christmas gift especially when the Calenders would last all year long .... so I'm going to include the other samples I did with the Sets  from the Show in July, so tonight is the Non Christmas group and tommorrow I will do the Christmas Group....

Blossom stencil ,Debossed butterflies and a scattering of roses from The Hobby house, Die cut leaves  and a bow, using the smudge and stipple technique with sparkle medium I use Champange reguarly around the edges to finish.
A reminder of the Step by Step piece that is on the Imagination Blog, I have added the lower plaque now using other items in the sets and now is a double hanger...
this was fun to do...there is papers and paint and mica and flowers and I've even utee'd a small key onto a small domino, used  the birdcage sytencil on the birdcage and found a chain to hang it on  more roses from www.thehobbyhouse.co.uk , frond punch from the Woodware range I use this punch lots !!!!!! this has to be one of my favorites...

Same sort of thing again but in greys and pinks and debossed the cage...
This piece could be in both sections as would work for christmas just as well, using the paint n crackle for the initial bacground and then Champagne Sparkle medium with the border stencil.....both the house and dove have been debossed utee then ribbons wrapped and tied.. this would look nice hanging or on a mini easle on the mandle piece at Christmas...

Another hanger but thid time Diamond-wise, and this time all with gold leaf n glu techneque.the top layer of the butterfly is laminating sheet ( sticky acetate) and gold leaf the next 2 layers stamp and embossed on soft cream satin card.....this was designed to hang in a window or conservatory so both side are done to match.. to finish smudge n stipple the edges...

Next and the last one for tonight ....The Journal ......this really was having fun with papers and stamp edge scissors....... I've still used mica and the Brocade stencil and utee'd the Butterfly and Heart to decorate the front,  and then smudge n stipple the edges, I've just added papers and pockets front and back....you could add all sorts of things to suit who would use it and tailor it to suit them what a great gift!!!!

I do have some of these as step by step projects if anyone would like any ...send me a private message and I'll bounce one back to you as soon as I am able ....

More tommorrow 'The Christmas section' Happy Crafting....Jayne x
